Free PHP Scripts

I think this is a fairly complete set of webmaster's scripts. They're all available free for personal use, though you can contribute in several different ways if you like.

The most complex PHP example program is ipn.php - the PayPal Instant Payment Notification processor. This is explained in detail in the Automation module.

To run scripts you can access them directly - like web pages - the affiliates and login systems work like this. Other scripts, like hit counters etc need to be included in a web page, e.g:
 <? include ("hits.php"); include("nav.php"); ?>

TIP: When 'including' a file in this manner, the extension of the included file is irrelevant. In the example above, the header data could be stored in any legally named file.

If you want to pass parameters to a script - you add them to the end of the URL using the '?' and '&' characters like this: < href="

/site-search.php?search_term=scripts&next_val=1">. You may need to urlencode the values!

It's often necessary to give the full URL in an include if you want to pass parameters.
